Are your shrubs growing high to the sky this year? Do you know when is the best time to prune your plants?
How do you do it?
Here are 5 mistakes to avoid this summer while pruning:
1. Don't prune azaleas in August if you want blooms next spring.
2. It is not necessary to prune Hydrangeas to get them to bloom.
3. August is not a good time to do severe pruning.
4. Power shears will box up any shrub you prune. If you do not want to create a formal look in the yard,
consider using selective pruning in the yard.
5.If you prune plants in August, that bloom in the early spring (before May 1st), then you will be removing the blooms. Do not prune Azaleas, Yellow Bells or Loropetalum in August, if you want to have blooms in the spring.
